Esopus Spitzenburg

Three Springs Fruit Farm

Discovered in the early 18th century near Esopus, New York, it is reputed to have been a favorite apple of Thomas Jefferson, who planted several of the trees at Monticello. Being juicy and sweet-tart with spicy and fruity flavours, this variety is great for both cooking and eating fresh. Try it sliced with an aged cheddar cheese for an amazing snack!
